Careers and Jobs in China

For LSE graduates in China there are two useful LSE supported activities, which should assist alumni in seeking a first job or looking to develop one's career further.

Careers Fairs in China (Beijing and Shanghai)

Since 2006 LSE has organised career fairs in Beijing and Hong Kong, with the addition of Shanghai in 2007. The careers fairs are usually held in the first two weeks of September each year. Around 25-30 major global companies participate in the fairs, with the addition of several leading Chinese companies in more recent years.

The fairs are open to all LSE alumni, and soon-to-graduate LSE students, with 0-2 years of work experience. The careers fairs in both Beijing and Shanghai are invitation ONLY events. All interested LSE students and alumni need to submit their CV and request permission to attend. All companies participating receive a booklet of CVs in advance of the fairs.

Details on the Autumn (September) 2014 careers fairs will appear online in due course. Interested LSE students can view details on the 2013 careers fairs| and contact the careers office| directly for the 2014 dates.

For any companies in China, overseas or domestic, interested in participating in the LSE China career fairs or other career fairs in South East Asia details are available| on previous fairs including booking instructions for September 2014.

Job Postings - LSE China Alumni Web-board

LSE alumni registered for the China based web-network will also have access to the job postings, which are regularly placed on the website. LSE alumni in China work in executive head-hunting agencies and place job openings that would be of specific relevance to other LSE alumni on the China web-board. It is also possible for alumni to look through the weblist of alumni contacts or post a short message for other alumni in their industry sector to contact them.
