The purpose of External Relations Division is to help increase the impact and influence of the LSE and its work externally, in support of the School's historical mission to contribute to wider society as well as to promote academic excellence. This is to benefit the whole LSE community.

Conference and Events
Communications - comprising Corporate Publications, Design Unit, Digital Communications, Online Video, Photography Unit and Press and Information
The division is responsible for the School's representation in China - see LSE China
The division runs the Linking Up programme (login required) to encourage and enable LSE academic staff to undertake external relations activities when travelling.
External Relations Division monitors LSE's position in University league tables.
External Relations staff can view the divisional green noticeboard.
News: External Relations Division will be replaced on 1 September 2014 by a new Communications Division, comprising Communications as set out above and Conferences and Events. Academic Partnerships and the Head of LSE China will move under the leadership of the Pro-Director (Teaching and Learning). The Director of External Relations position will be discontinued and Robin Hoggard will move to the Governance, Legal and Planning Division in the new role of Director of Government and International Affairs.
