LSE staff contribute to life at the School in a variety of ways. Many also chose to support the School financially by making a donation to the LSE Annual Fund or leaving a legacy to the School.
Staff in all roles see the challenges that students face every day, and staff who support the School philanthropically make a powerful statement.
LSE Annual Fund
By supporting projects across the School, the LSE Annual Fund aims to improve the student and staff experiences. Gifts to the Annual Fund are unrestricted so we can direct funds where they will have the greatest impact. Last year supporters of LSE donated £914,000 through the Annual Fund to enable 87 projects across the School to make a difference.
Give As You Earn (GAYE)
LSE facilitates a GAYE scheme. This allows an employee to give a regular or single gift from their income to the School.
Please fill in this form and print it out and send it to LSE Payroll (Dominic Burchall SAR2) in Human Resources – Lionel Robbins Building (5th floor), 10 Portugal Street.
This scheme means:
• Gifts made through Payroll Giving are taken directly from the gross pay, giving the benefactor immediate tax relief at the highest rate of tax for which they qualify
• For instance, every £10 you donate will only cost you £8 as you save £2 at the basic tax rate and higher tax rate payers will pay only £6
• The School can better plan its activities sustainably, knowing the LSE Annual Fund is getting regular donations
• You are better able to keep track of your giving
To make contributions to the LSE Annual Fund, the charity details for the GAYE form are as follows:
Inland Revenue No. X2401
LSE Annual Fund
LSE Advancement
London School of Economics and Political Science
Houghton Street
London WC2A 2AE
We are very grateful for you choosing to donate tax-efficiently via payroll giving. As we use a third party (CAF) to process this, there may be a delay between you filling in the form and your donation coming out of your pay. There is also sometimes a delay of several weeks before the Annual Fund receives your donation once it is set up, but as soon as we receive the funds, we will write to acknowledge receipt and to thank you for your generous support.
