We help you recruit LSE students and alumni
Post your opportunities on CareerHub
Our online vacancy board is the most effect way to advertise your opportunities to LSE students. You can advertise both long-term positions and one-off events free of charge. The vacancy board can be accessed by all current students and recent alumni and an average of more than 1000 students visit it each day.
Please refer to our service standards [pdf] before adding an opportunity to CareerHub.
Meet our students at events
Each year we run two successful volunteering fairs, with over 800 students attending, as well as a number of seminars and panel events which consider volunteering.
We also have lots of opportunities for charities to hold information stalls on campus and interact with our students.
Provide research opportunities for student dissertations
Reachout Research connects postgraduate students who are looking for dissertation topics with charities who are looking for research to be carried out.
If your charity is looking for a student to complete research in partnership with your organisation as part of their dissertation then we can help connect you.
We provide advice and support
Volunteering trends and research
The LSE Volunteer Centre carries out research on volunteering trends amongst our students and is regularly involved in larger pieces of research involving volunteering. By sharing these with you we can help ensure that your organisation is well placed to use this knowledge in your recruitment drives. Please read our latest report on student volunteering [pdf] and partner feedback [pdf] for further information on volunteering trends at LSE.
We can work with your organisation to make sure you are following best practice guidance, especially when involving students as volunteers. Please take the time to read our best practice guide [pdf].
You can support us in this by providing examples of best practice or projects that have gone particularly well when working with LSE students.
We help raise your profile
Links with the Students' Union and RAG
The Volunteer Centre works closely with the LSE SU and LSE SU RAG Society. We've had several charities go on to become official RAG partners and raise many thousands of pounds after working with the LSE Volunteer Centre.
Free campus advertising
We can promote your organisation with stalls, banners and online adverts to ensure our students know about your opportunities.
Your online and social media presence
We have several active social media platforms and a newsletter that is read by over 3000 students. We also have a very popular blog and we’re always looking for new content, such as successful volunteering stories.
Student awards and recognition
The Volunteer Centre holds an awards ceremony each year to highlight the work completed by our students and charities that we work with. This is a fantastic opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to your volunteers and have their work recognised.
We also produce an annual brochure of LSE volunteers, featuring case studies and stories from students and the charities we work with.
We help you make connections
Links with academic departments
The Volunteer Centre can put you in touch with relevant departments if you are advertising specific opportunities. We are always looking at ways to connect students who are writing their thesis with relevant charities.
Links with LSE's corporate partners
Through LSE Careers, we work with many corporate partners and can offer you opportunities to connect with them.
Connections with the Employer Engagement Team
As part of LSE Careers, we can also offer you support and guidance on recruiting for paid positions for your charity. Did you know that 10% of LSE graduates go in to the charity and international development sector?
