MSc Human Rights
Campaign, Projects & Networks Coordinator, Amnesty International
Why did you choose to join your current employer?
I wanted to expand my academic knowledge of human rights into a practical setting, where I could learn how human rights are advocated for and implemented at national, regional and international levels.
What did LSE teach you?
My job involves campaigning for human rights. I gained a sound understanding of the International Human Rights Framework and human rights advocacy during my degree.
Can you explain your current role?
I coordinate Amnesty’s global campaigns around women’s rights and gender equality, sexual orientation and gender identity, and indigenous people’s rights. I work on strategy to ensure human rights are respected, protected and fulfilled.
What has been your greatest achievement with this organisation?
Ensuring that gender is integrated into all of our work.
What do you consider the top skill that graduates should develop at LSE to help them hit the ground running at work?
Learn how to communicate effectively. You’ll meet many different personalities in the workplace; knowing how to communicate and articulate your message is key.
