Following graduation from LSE, I found a job in Paris working for Project Education, an educational consulting firm. I then moved back to the US to look for a job. I took a role as a graduate trainee with Rexam, an aluminium can manufacturer. I started off in the sales department, learning the ropes of the company and then later left to take up my current job at Sprout Social, Inc. It is a social media start-up in Chicago and I have climbed the ranks since May 2011 to become the head of customer support there.

Sprout Social is a social media management platform that lets people manage their Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts in one place. We have to learn to adapt to the platform as it changes daily with new coding developments. There is so much room to take on responsibility and create a career path for oneself. I’ve learned so much about training, being a manager, inventing my own role, and project management. I’d definitely like to move more into the project management role rather than pursue the customer support route.

A large part of my decision to study at LSE was because of their dual degree program with Sciences Po. Studying for a prestigious Master’s degree and experiencing the European culture was key for me. I loved the people and culture of studying at LSE. I met some life-long friends who I will always keep in touch with. The school is located in such a great part of the city and there is so much opportunity to take advantage of all that London has to offer.

Finally, there is one piece of advice that I would give to LSE students: never stop networking, even when you find a job. You never know what opportunities you could help someone find or they could help you find!
