Work experience and internships
In Germany, internships are known as ‘Praktikum’. Although many German students typically gain some form of work experience as part of their course, many praktikum are also open to other EU students.
It’s important to be aware that start dates and time periods for praktikum are often very different than a typical UK internship. Many opportunities can last for up to six months and they often start at different times of the year too.
