The Public Service of Canada

The Public Service of Canada consists of government departments and agencies |. Vacancies within the departments and agencies can be searched for at Job Bank |or Careers in the Federal Public Service|

Current students| have the opportunity to apply for internships, the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) and the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP).

Graduates| can apply for Post-Secondary Recruitment (PSR) and the Recruitment of Policy Leaders (RPL) programme.

Parliament of Canada

 

The Parliament of Canada is made up of the Monarch, the Senate and the House of Commons. 

The Monarch is Queen Elizabeth II and her functions are undertaken by the Governor General.

The Senate is made up of senators who are appointment by the Prime Minister and the Governor General - the Senate is similar to the British House of Lords.

The House of Commons is the democratically elected body consisting of Members of Parliament.

Germany

Government jobs in Germany are open to German citizens but opportunities for non-German citizens are rare.  To work for the German Government you should apply directly to the agencies, offices or institutions you wish to work for.  A list of those can be found at Das Deutschland|.

The Bundesanstalt fur Arbeit| (Federal Employment Agency) provides information on nationwide employment offices, which is very useful when looking for careers within the government.

Hong Kong

The Hong Kong government have two types of job vacancies; civil service and non-civil service.  Information on government job vacancies, how to apply, qualification requirements, and selection information can be found at GovHK - Applying for Government Jobs|.

Please note: you must be a permanent resident of Hong Kong SAR to be eligible to work for the Hong Kong government.

India

Recruitment for the Indian Government is dealt through the Union Public Service Commission| (UPSC).
