Graduate training schemes

LSE Careers has compiled a list of graduate training schemes across the AMMP sector for 2011 starts. See Graduate Training Schemes 2011 (pdf) (updated January 2011).

BBC Production Trainee Scheme – work on a series of websites and programmes across the BBC, within Factual, Entertainment, Comedy, Drama, Children's, Audio & Music and Sport. Applications accepted from 1st March to 14th March 2011.

BBC Design Trainee Scheme – applicants get the chance to work in set, costume, interactive design or make-up. Keep checking their website for application deadlines – last year applications opened in March and June.

BBC Journalism Trainee Scheme – find, research, write and broadcast news stories for TV, radio or online. Applications for their 2011/2012 scheme open in September 2011.

Conde Nast – become a media sales executive. Currently accepting applications for their next induction commencing 1st March. Therefore, apply now.

Financial Times - join their trainee journalist scheme and become part of the editorial team. Take part in six weeks worth of training, and two years at the FT newspaper and website in London and oversees. Application deadline passed in December 2010.

Harper Collins Publishers - their next bi-annual graduate training scheme will begin in 2011, details will be updated on their website. In the mean time attend their open day to apply for graduate level vacancies.

The National Magazine Company – offer graduate positions in media sales. They accept applications in the form of a CV and cover letter throughout the year.

Princess Productions – make programmes for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky. Apply for their graduate researcher scheme. This scheme closed in June 2010. Keep checking their website for updates for 2011 entry.

Working Title Films – Action! is their one year graduate programme. Apply by 16th February for a June 2011 start.
