Careers events

Types of events

Careers seminars

Careers seminars are educational events which cover a huge arrange of topics, from application forms to assessment centres, interviews to group work, leadership to teamwork to name but a few.

Delivered by employers, careers consultants or a combination of both, the careers seminars run throughout the year and can be a great way to learn more about various careers and the recruitment process.

Presentations

Company representatives from a variety of sectors give presentations about their organisation and the opportunities available and will run through the recruitment process, followed by an opportunity to talk informally with company representatives. They are held on and off campus throughout Michaelmas and Lent.

Careers fairs

Careers fairs are your chance to meet key players in your chosen field, get a feel for
different companies and make your name known. We organise a programme of sector specific careers fairs throughout the year which aim to encourage all career ambitions.

Networking events

A chance to meet students, alumni and employers in a more informal setting. Networking events are a great chance to gather information about a company or sector and make useful connections with employers and your peers. View our networking events on CareerHub.

Friday breakfast briefings

Friday breakfast briefings are themed, informal employer networking events in the cafe on floor six of the Saw Swee Hock Student Centre. They are great opportunities to find out more about a particular sector or to meet employers who are looking to hire students with specific skills and backgrounds.

On-campus promotions

Throughout the year employers set up promotions on the LSE campus to meet students in a more fun and informal way than presentations, fairs and seminars. On campus promotions don't usually require bookings and are a way for you to quickly chat to an employer and pick up some information while you are on campus.

How and when to book

These events are very popular so check LSE CareerHub regularly for details on how and when to book.

Non-attendance policy

Our events and appointments are oversubscribed and therefore it is important you always cancel your booking online as soon as you know you are unable to attend, so that another student is able to book.

If you fail to attend a total of four appointments/events during a two week period, your online booking privileges will be revoked for two weeks. During this period, if you want to book an appointment you must visit LSE Careers in person to do so.

Please note: you will be marked as absent if you are more than 10 minutes late for an event.

The LSE Careers Statement of Service [pdf] outlines our commitment to LSE students and what we ask of them in return.
