Election Research

Other institutions researching Mozambique elections

The Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Económicos (IESE; Economic and Social Studies Institute) in Maputo has a Cidadania e governação (Citizenship and Governance) working group with an elections study headed by Luis de Brito.

It has graphic presentations of 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009 elections by district and Excel tables.

Other research on Mozambique elections

The first results from this project were presented at a public lecture on 16 March 2016 by Johan Ahlback and Joseph Hanlon. The podcast and PowerPoint are available to download from Fraud at polls: can journalists and statisticians check? The Mozambican experience.

"Identifying Fraud in Democratic Elections: a case study of the 2004 presidential election in Mozambique" by J Hanlon and Sean Fox, LSE Crisis States Research Centre, December 2006.
