Biography
Dr Iavor Rangelov is Global Security Research Fellow at the Civil Society and Human Security Research Unit at the London School of Economics and Co-Chair of the London Transitional Justice Network|. He is a fellow of the research and training programme European Foreign and Security Policy Studies (EFSPS), which supported his post-doctoral research and visiting fellowships at the European Policy Centre (Brussels), EU Institute for Security Studies (Paris), Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (Barcelona), and T.M.C. Asser Instituut (The Hague). His current research focuses on the relationship between justice and security, as part of the ERC-funded research programme Security in Transition|.
Research Interests
Transitional justice and international justice, in particular: the relationship between justice and security in conflict-affected states; justice-seeking in democratisation and stabilisation processes.
Human security, in particular: persistent conflict; abuse of power; large-scale human rights violations; legitimate political authority); globalisation & civil society (in particular: hybrid forms of governance; international legitimacy; international rule of law.
