Biography:
Aico holds a BA degree in Social Sciences from the University of São Paulo, a MA in Sociology from the University of São Paulo and a PhD in Sociology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Environmental Studies and Research Centre at the University of Campinas, NEPAM-UNICAMP (2013), a Visiting Research Fellow in the Department of International Development at the London School of Economics, ID-LSE, UK (2013-2014) and a Visiting Research Student in Development Studies Institute at the LSE, UK (1998-1999). Currently, he is an Associate Researcher in NEPAM-UNICAMP, and has been working as a Lecture in several universities in Brazil and as a consultant for institutions such as the World Bank, the Brazilian Government, FAO-UN and for the National Confederation of Rural Workers, CONTAG.
Aico is a Visiting Research Fellow in the ID-LSE, doing research on the territorial rural development policy and social movements in Brazil, sponsored by São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).
