Guest Teacher in Political Economy of Development for 2018

The Department of International Development would like to hire a Guest Teacher for a postgraduate course on Comparative Political Economy.

Candidates should have completed a PhD in a social science discipline such as Development Studies, International Relations, Politics, or Sociology (or similar subjects). They should also have expertise, research interests, and prior teaching experience in international development policy, ideally with a strong political economy focus.

The post is available from 1 January 2018 to 31 May 2018, with lectures, seminars, and supervision for ten weeks in January-March, and marking of assessed work later in the term. The post is part time with contact hours not expected to exceed 10 per week. Salary will be £12,413 for these five months. Assistance with short term accommodation in London may be possible.

The Department of International Development promotes interdisciplinary postgraduate teaching and research on processes of social, political and economic development and change. The department is dedicated to understanding problems of poverty and late development within local communities, as well as national and international political and economic systems.
