MRes and PhD Programmes

The Department of International Development runs a vibrant research programme with students employing a variety of disciplinary and interdisciplinary methods for research projects across Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.

The MRes programme is designed to both train students in a common academic heritage and to provide significant flexibility to develop advanced methodological and theoretical skills within disciplinary specialisms appropriate to their research interests.

Applications for September 2018 entry are now open              

The programme is now open for applications for 2018/19 entry.  Please note that the Department accepts applications for starters at the beginning of the Michaelmas Term only.

The application deadline for funded places is Monday 8 January 2018.                

After this deadline outstanding applicants with their own funding may exceptionally be considered.
