About the Author

Ayşegül Sever is a Professor of International Relations at Marmara University in Turkey and a Visiting Professor at LSE IDEAS. She has previously been a Visiting Scholar at the Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University and at Wolfson College, Oxford. Her areas of interest include the international politics of the Middle East, Turkish foreign policy, and Cold War history. She received her BA from Ankara University, her MA from the University of Birmingham, and her PhD from the University of Reading.
