Francesco Cherubini is Lecturer of European Union Law at Libera Universita’ Internazionale degli Studi Sociali (LUISS “Guido Carli”), in Rome, Italy, where he also teaches Human Rights and International Organisations. He is a member of the PhD board of International and EU Law, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and also member of the editorial board of the scientific review Studi sull’integrazione europea (Cacucci, Bari).
After the achievement of a PhD in International Law at the University of Naples “Federico II”, with a final thesis on “The Status of Third Country Nationals in EU Law”, he has continued both research and teaching activities respectively at LUISS and at the Naval Academy in Livorno, where he taught EU Law for two years. Most of his publications concerns EU Law and Human Rights, especially in the context of the fight against international terrorism.
During his fellowship at the Centre he is completing his research on the right of asylum in the EU, which is expected to be published before the end of the year. Part of this work will be discussed at the annual conference of the Association for the Study of the World Refugee Problem, which takes place at Fresing, Germany, from 24 to 27 of September 2012.
