In this lecture, Professor Martha Nussbaum scrutinises the relationship between rights and capabilities as ways of addressing issues of sex equality. She argues - in contrast to Amartya Sen - that a definite list of the central human capabilities is required if the capabilities approach is to deliver an adequate conception of justice.
