Dr Ritesh Maharaj is a PhD candidate at the Department of Health Policy. He is also a critical care physician at Kings College Hospital and an honorary senior lecturer within the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London.
His research interests are focused on the organisation, delivery of and outcomes from critical care services. His work integrates approaches from the fields of epidemiology and health economics to investigate quality and efficiency in critical care.
Dr Maharaj's PhD thesis is an evaluation of the variation in the delivery of critical care services in the UK at national, regional, hospital, and patient level. He will also examine variations in costs and potential policies to optimally reorganisation the service.
