Andreas Xanthos, the Greek Minister of Health, discusses the challenges faced by the Greek public health system in a period of economic crisis and austerity. He explains the strategic and structural reforms required to shape the future of the health system for both the population and healthcare workers.

Mr Xanthos will be discussing the challenges of a public health system facing an economic crisis with Professor Nikandros Bouras, Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience, King's College London, and Dr Panos Kanavos, Associate Professor in International Health Policy, LSE. Together they will attempt to extract an understanding of what happens to public health systems during a time of economic crisis and how a country can move on from this.
