Izabela Correa is a PhD Candidate in Political Science. Prior to joining the Doctoral Programme at the Government Department at the LSE, she was a public policy practitioner in the Federal Government of Brazil, where she developed and coordinated the implementation of multiple policies in the area of anti-corruption and transparency.
Thesis
The evolutionary grammar of regulatory transparency: legal expansion, stagnation and retrenchment
The research explores cross national and cross sectoral variations in the evolution of regulatory transparency requirements (RTR), defined as legally binding obligations imposed by governments on corporations to disclose structured and factual information about the performance or risk of their practices, products or services in order to advance regulatory purposes. Its design emphasizes the sequences, rationale of actors and contexts that lead to the legal expansion, stagnation or retrenchement of RTR.
