Biography
Livia Isabella Schubiger joined the Department of Government as an Assistant Professor in Comparative Politics (Peace and Conflict Research) in September 2015. Prior to joining LSE, she was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zurich's Department of Political Science (Chair for Political Methodology) and the International Conflict Research (ICR) group at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich. She was also a pre-doctoral visiting fellow at the Program on Order, Conflict, and Violence at Yale University (New Haven, CT, USA).
Livia's dissertation on the effects of wartime indiscriminate state violence received several awards, including the Prize for Excellence in Applied Development Research (1st Prize, Young Researcher Category) from the Research Group on Development Economics of the German Economic Association and the KfW Development Bank.
