"Necessity is going to be the mother and father of innovation,
- there is no other way." Sir Gus O'Donnell, March 2009.
The next decade is likely to be one of fiscal austerity, in which government will inevitably have to do more for less. Government innovations will be critical in finding new, more cost effective solutions to existing problems the LSE Public Policy Group in conjunction with the Institute for Government is holding a series of seminars looking at the scope for innovation across government.
The series will have 11 Seminars over 2009 and 2010 on the topic 'Innovating out of the Recession'. This seminar programme is funded by the HEIF 4 Bid Fund.
