The Department of Government offers a wide variety of postgraduate programmes as listed below. Many include distinct specialisms or 'streams' and many have a research track for those wishing to continue their studies at doctoral level.

Please note: The Department operates a rolling admissions process so applicants are encouraged to apply early. Once the allocated number of places has been filled, the programme will be closed. Applications which are received after a programme has been closed will not be considered. We will indicate if a programme is still accepting applicants on this webpage).

The Postgraduate Dissertation (GV499) gives our students the opportunity to develop independent research skills and expand academic horizons over an extended piece of writing. We interviewed some of our MSc graduates to learn about their outstanding work and how the LSE's unique learning environment shaped research passions into first class dissertations.
