PhD candidate in Regional and Urban Planning

EmailH.Nguyen-Vu@lse.ac.uk

As cities in the Global South expand and evolve, what forms of governance and planning are needed in order to ensure inclusive growth? What should the relationship and interactions be between urban communities, their governments, and businesses? These are central questions that guide Zung’s academic research at LSE.

Prior to joining the LSE, Zung received an MA from the New School in Cities and Social Justice and a BA from Brown University in Economics and International Development. She worked for 4+ years designing ethnographic research and managing consulting projects for ReD Associates, a New York consulting firm that uses qualitative insights to deliver strategy. In her capacity, Zung advised Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and international organizations on their innovation strategy and organizational capabilities. She also conducted ethnographic fieldwork in various cities in East Asia, Southern Africa, and North America. She hopes to bring her consulting background to help urban governments think about social inclusion, growth, and innovation.
