18 February 2009
Since the arrival of the new administration at City Hall, a number of changes have occurred to policy and organisation. Co-hosted by LSE London and the Spatial Economics Research Centre, the central focus of the evening was on the approach to policy and intervention in the economy with particular reference to London.
For this occasion, the Chief Executive of the London Development Agency, Peter Rogers, presented the LDA's approach to the London economy. This was followed by a discussion led by professors Ian Gordon and Henry Overman (LSE London and Spatial Economics Research Centre, respectively). Questions were raised about the way London fits within the range of English Regional Development Agencies in terms of local and regional economic development.
There was plenty of opportunity to take part in the informed debate that followed the presentation and there was also a drinks reception after the event.
This event was supported by the HEIF 4 Bid Fund.
