GLC to the GLA: 40 years of London Government

London Development Workshops II hosted a seminar and discussion examining 40 years of London Government.  The event was held at London City Hall, and included presentations from the following speakers:

• Derek Keen, Institute of Metropolitan History
• Michael Hebbert, University of Manchester
• Jerry White, author and Local Government Ombudsman
• John Davis, University of Oxford
• Tony Travers, LSE

Also in attendance and involved in a discussion led by George Jones of LSE was Mayor Ken Livingstone and Lord Desmond Plummer, GLC Leader from 1967-1973.
