The London conference, 26 October 2005

The London Development Workshops were opened with a one day conference on the government's review of the Greater London Authority (GLA). The conference discussed possible and/or desirable outcomes of this review.

Around 110 people, from local government, the media, think-tanks, academia and the voluntary sector, discussed the future arrangements for the mayor and the GLA.

Speakers included among others the mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, the minister for London, Jim Fitzpatrick and Tony Travers.
