2 September 2014: Lecture on the Financing and Subsidy Policy of Social Housing: Brazil and European Union
In early September, Christine Whitehead and Melissa Fernandez Arrigiotia travelled to Brazil as part of the first stage of dialogues between experts on social housing finance in the EU and in Brazil. This visit is the first of a series of events that will allow for an exchange of ideas and debate regarding social housing finance policy between Brazil and countries within the EU. On 2 September in São Paulo, Professor Whitehead presented a lecture on the financing and subsidy policy of social housing.

4 September 2014: First Workshop of the Sector Dialogues, EU-Brazil: Comparative Analysis of the Financing and Subsidy Policy on Social Housing: European Union - Brazil
On 4 September, the first workshop of the sector dialogue was held in Brasilia. This workshop, attended by representatives from LSE London and the Brazilian Ministry of Cities, centred on a discussion of the main challenges faced by Brazil's government in financing social housing and an overview of European financing models presented by Christine Whitehead.

25 September 2014: Brazil-EU Dialogue seminar on low income housing finance and subsidies
LSE hosted second stage of the Brazil-EU dialogue series on 25 September 2014. This conference brought together representatives from LSE London, Brazil's Ministry of Cities, and experts on social housing finance from Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK.
