LSE is one of the world's leading social science research and teaching centres, and we very much hope that you will consider joining one of our four Geography & Environment undergraduate programmes. Student life at LSE is cosmopolitan and challenging, set at the heart of a major city, and surrounded by some of the best facilities for studying to be found anywhere in the world.
In the Department of Geography and Environment we specialise in Human Geography and Environmental Studies. If you want to specialise in Physical Geography, then LSE is not for you.
In common with the rest of LSE, the Department of Geography & Environment combines specialist expertise with a broad interdisciplinary approach. Students here feel as though they belong to the School as a whole, rather than just the Department. There is also a strong international presence among the students.
At LSE you will be encouraged to develop your own interests and skills as deeply as possible. The number of students qualified to study at LSE is comparatively low, making for a good staff-student ratio. Furthermore employers consider LSE to be a highly ranked institution with an excellent reputation and therefore look very favourably upon our graduates. Our students are consistently rated as having among the best career prospects in the country.
