The first edition of the Plannerman, the MSc Regional and Urban Planning Studies (RUPS) film competition, was held on 31 May 2016 and revealed real talent amongst our students.
These films are part of research for the course GY454 Urban Policy and Planning, which looks at London neighbourhoods to analyse urban policy making and planning.
Four London Plan Opportunity Areas were depicted: Thamesmead, Old Kent Road, Colindale & Burnt Oak Common, and Charlton Riverside.
Students were able to share their analysis and passion for urban studies through these films, providing a glimpse of these fascinating areas.
Four experts in urban documentary and documentary analysis were present to form a panel of judges: Patrick Steel, Michele De Laurentis, Larissa Alves and Nicola Carnevali. They awarded three prizes: Best Overall Film, Best Film Narrative and Best Cinematography.
And the winners are...
Best Overall Film
Old Kent Road B (Farrah Hussain, Jeanne Charbonneau, Martin Habasque, Merdzana Mujkanovic, Danielle Ricchiuti)
Best Film Narrative
