About me

Alexandra Sotiriou is from Greece, graduated from the LSE and holds a MSc in Local Economic Development (with Distinction) and a BSc in International and European Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Her research focuses on the impact of international trade and facilitated trade at the local and regional level (regional development, domestic industry and local labor markets). She has previous professional experience as business development manager for EC-funded development projects promoting local governance policies and institutional capacity building (mainly Europaid and WB-funded projects) in the MENA region and the Western Balkans. She also completed her traineeship at the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Luxembourg in 2011.
