Student Zines: (Un)Bridging Academia and Activism?

For Cumberland Lodge 2015, the students who attended the workshop '(Un)bridging Academic and Activism?' created their own zines (below are some examples). Questions they were encouraged to think about were:

  • Are there parts of academia that are irreconcilable with activism - and vice versa?
  • What is the importance of intellectual work?
  • How do we avoid a self-indulgent academic environment?
  • How can we justify certain research interventions that concern activists in an ethical way?

Please click on the images below for enlargened images of the zines.
