The LSE's Law & Financial Markets Project and Financial Markets Group organised this seminar on the regulation of UK takeovers. In the wake of Kraft's takeover of Cadbury Plc, concerns had been raised both by business leaders and Government ministers that the UK's regulation of takeovers renders UK companies too exposed to takeover. The Takeover Panel announced its intention to produce a consultation document addressing these concerns, which was expected to be published at the end of May 2010. This seminar provided a forum for business leaders, fund managers, regulators and lawyers to discuss this issues. The seminar involved short comments from seminar panel members followed by a general discussion.
