Previous Degree: MSc Commercial Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven

I chose the MSc Finance programme at LSE because I expected it to be one of the most challenging and interesting finance masters programmes in Europe.

It was very motivating and exciting to study with very talented students from all over the world. Learning from peers and excellent academics has been an absolute privilege and enabled me to attack financial problems from many different angles. LSE's international student body and vibrant society life made the whole experience even more rewarding.

Where are they now?

Right after graduating from the MSc Finance programme at LSE, I joined The Boston Consulting Group, looking for a challenging international environment.

I have not been disappointed. As a strategy consultant, it has been very exciting to help large multinationals with their toughest problems and BCG has provided me with unparalleled opportunities. I literally could work around the globe on some of the world’s most strategic questions and even got the opportunity to negotiate multiple banking and insurance laws in 2013 when I worked - temporarily outside of BCG - as Financial Sector Advisor for Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister.

Looking back, I feel the MSc Finance programme at LSE has helped me significantly to be successful as a strategy consultant. Obviously, the financial content of the courses is useful in my professional life, especially when working with corporate banking executives or on M&A deals. Equally important for my development was the quality of teaching and the challenging group assignments in the applied courses. The group assignments pushed us to fully think through complex financial business cases while working together with – very bright and interesting – classmates from all over the world. Thank you MSc Finance! I could not have wished for a better post-graduate programme.
