Jingbo Li

Previous Degree

BA Economics, Nanjing University

Why did you choose the Programme?

An internship experience in a business advisory firm made me really interested in the variety and creativity of financial institutions. After finishing my Bachelor Degree in Economics I just felt that it was the right time to gain more knowledge of finance before looking for a job in the financial industry. LSE holds a great reputation all over the world and the MSc Finance and Economics marries the quantitative financial world together with my background in economics perfectly.

What aspect did you gain from / enjoy most?

I would say this academic year was tough but really worthwhile, which gave me much more than I would have expected before I arrived at LSE. The experience is not only about the knowledge, but also the personal network that I obtained and the views of other classmates. The most exciting aspect was the opportunity to study with so many bright and intelligent people and learning from them.

The programme was challenging and that is part of the things to enjoy. Financial Econometrics and the optional courses were really illuminating and gave me a broad and deep understanding of the subject.

The study atmosphere was also attractive. There was no so-called competition, but discussion. My supervisor and the course lecturers were always helpful when I felt confused about the course and my future plans. The programme has made me more mature and intelligent.

Jingbo joined Deloitte in London as an Associate in Tax for Financial Service companies after graduating.
