Why did you choose LSE for your postgraduate studies?
LSE was my first choice because of its excellent reputation for finance and economics. Moreover, the location of the School is very attractive because it gives an opportunity to spend a year in a fully international environment and close to the global financial centre.
Why did you choose the Finance and Economics programme?
This programme perfectly suited my needs because I had background in economics and a growing interest in finance. I think that a great advantage of the programme is the rare combination of practical knowledge and theoretical foundations it offers. I was also seriously considering a career in academia and F&E is recommended by LSE as the best preparation for students interested in research in finance.
What are you doing now?
The intense F&E training and LSE brand gave me entrance and excellent preparation for the PhD studies at a world class university, and I enjoyed the F&E programme so much that I have chose to pursue a PhD in Finance at LSE. Apart from sill being a student I also participate in meetings organised by the Department for alumni and current students.
How did you find the learning environment at LSE?
The learning environment at LSE is amazing, mostly because of the people you meet. Other students are very inspiring, because they are smart and eager to attain their goals. The friendly atmosphere creates no pressure or competition, but motivates and allows students to learn together and from one another.
What are your highlights from your time at LSE?
Apart from fantastic fellow students, it is worth mentioning that Department of Finance is well-organised and really focused on how to help students benefit most from the programme. Therefore people with different backgrounds and various objectives can learn a lot and prepare well for future career.
