Mr Fabrizio Saccomanni

Mr Saccomanni was the Minister of Economy and Finance of Italy (April 2013-February 2014). Previously, he was the Senior Deputy Governor of the Bank of Italy, member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements and Alternate to the Governor in the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (2006-2013). From 2003 to 2006 Mr Saccomanni was Vice President for Risk Management of the EBRD. He started his career at the Bank of Italy in 1967 and was seconded to the IMF from 1970 to 1975; he then held various positions in the Bank of Italy and became Managing Director for International Affairs in 1997. He has an MA Degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan and was a visiting student at Princeton University (1969-70). He is the author of the book "managing International Financial Instability (Elgar 2008).
