December - November 2010

  • Professor Featherstone's last article for 2010 for Kathimerini newspaper entitled 'Not quite the decade we’d expected, but...' (Friday, 31/12/2010).  
  • Dr Theodore Panagiotidis' article for 'VIMA' newspaper entitled 'When should we spreads to go down?' (Saturday, 13/11/2010). 
  • Professor Featherstone argued in 'Kathimerini on Sunday' that the way the Greek university system is managed is reminiscent of the problems of the old Olympic Airways: overly politicised, with a misallocation of resources, and a neglect of those whom it is intended to serve (Sunday 7/11/2010). 
  • Professor Kevin Featherstone and Dr Dimitris Papadimitriou gave an interview to the Greek newspaper 'Naftemporiki' focusing on the publication of the Greek translation of the book they have co-authored 'The Limits of Europeanisation: Reform Capacity and Policy Conflict in Greece', published by Okto Publishers, Athens (Friday 5/11/2010).

  • Dr Vassilis Monastiriotis gives an interview to Tim Jenkins for the BBC World Service (radio) (aired at 11:33 on Mon 14/6/) in the World Briefing programme. The interview was about the Inspectors from the IMF and the European Commission, visiting Greece today.
  • Dr Vassilis Monastiriotis gives an interview on the 'Ten News Australia' for their 'Meet the Press' programme, discussing  the economic health of the EU with a particular focus to what has been happening in Greece and it's ramifications for other countries (link starting at 01:53).

  • Professor Featherstone, writes an article in the Guardian arguing that 'if Greece is to recover, it needs EU support. Politics, more than economics, will determine its fate' (link). 
  • Professor Kevin Featherstone talks on 'The World Tonight' 29/01/2010 at 10:00pm with Robin Lustig on the Greek Economy and Greece's Economic Crisis and how the crisis in Greece affects the Euro-zone. See link; Professor Featherstone's interview starts at 36.25 minutes and ends at 40.35 minutes. 
  • Professor Featherstone, in his regular column for the Greek newspaper 'Kathimerini', wrote about 'Greece and Globalisation' and the need for the society to accept the need to adapt to external competition (link).
