The Greek Ombudsman, Professor Calliope Spanou, gave the Thirteenth Hellenic Observatory Lecture at LSE on 25 November 2013. The title of the lecture was " The Greek Ombudsman and Public Administration during Challenging Times "

The Ombudsman focused on the establishment 15 years ago of the Ombudsman institution in Greece, highlighting its place and role in the political-administrative system of the country.

She also presented current challenges in the context of economic austerity, lack of trust in institutions as well as demands for a new relationship between citizens and the state in Greece.

The lecture was followed by a lively Q&A session with the audience and a private dinner.
