Andreas Mavroyiannis assumed his duties as Negotiator of the Greek-Cypriot community in September 2013.
Between March 2013 and August 2013 he served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Between October 2011 and January 2013, he served as Deputy Minister to the President of the Republic of Cyprus for European Affairs.
He joined the Diplomatic Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus in 1987. He has served as Permanent Representative of Cyprus to the European Union, and to the United Nations, as Ambassador to France and as Ambassador to Ireland.
Andreas holds a PhD in Political Sociology (Université de Paris X – Nanterre), a Master’s Degree in International Law and a Master’s Degree in Political Sciences, (Université de Droit et de Sciences – Paris 2), a Diploma in Law from the University of Thessaloniki and a Diploma of The Hague Academy of International Law.
