Dr. Giovanna Carnevali delivered a talk on the events celebrated around the 25th anniversary celebration of the “European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies Van der Rohe Award” that took place in Barcelona on the last 7th of June. At the celebration, there was a gathering of previous winners, other professionals, and directors from different world-wide institutions for a full-day programme of activities, including the ceremony of the 2013 edition of the Prize, the opening of an exceptional exhibition, and a debate about the future of European architecture. The Foundation was very proud of the exhibition, presenting to the public for the first time its collection of architectural projects from a repertoire of more than 2,500 buildings around Europe. The collection also features a section dedicated to the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion with current and period photographs and contemporary works by fine artists. It is the largest archive of its kind in the European Union and has been compiled since the first edition of the award 25 years ago.
