Kosovo and the Western Balkans in the Context of European Political and Security Challenges
Petrit Selimi is currently the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo. He has served as Deputy Minister at Ministry of Foreign Affairs for two mandates, and is currently an interim minister following the recent election of former Foreign Minister Hashim Thaci as President of the Republic.
At the Kosovo's Foreign Ministry, Selimi has led the portfolio of accession to international organizations, public diplomacy, interfaith dialogue and countering violent extremism as well as the country's innovative digital diplomacy strategy.
Previous to being engaged in politics, Selimi was engaged in Kosovo's media landscape as one of the co-founders of Gazeta Express and as National Media officer at OSCE Mission in Kosovo. He has also previously served as member of the Board of Directors of George Soros Foundation in Kosovo as well as Balkan Children and Youth Foundation, established by President Marti Ahtisaari. Selimi has also worked as a private consultant in Public Relations and communications for global companies in banking, telecom and energy services.
