Towards a Genuine EMU

This seminar series 'Towards a Genuine Economic and Monetary Union’ – what can the UK and the EU learn from each other? ' scrutinizes the most advanced proposals for completing the European monetary union that the EU has so far put forward. We will ask what these proposals mean for the Euro area outsider UK. Speakers are invited to identify and analyse issues of common concern for the UK and the Euro area, rather than speculate about the bleak or bright future for outsiders.

The series is coordinated by members of staff at the European Institute: Paul De Grauwe, Corrado Macchiarelli, Vassilis Monastiriotis and Waltraud Schelkle.
