Biography

Elizabeth is the Associate Director for the Forum for European Philosophy. She holds PhD in philosophy and an MA in the history and philosophy of science and medicine from Durham University. She also holds a BSc in mathematical physics from University College Dublin. She has taught at Durham University, the University of Leeds, and the University of Cambridge. She is also Assistant Editor for two academic journals: the British Journal for the Philosophy of Science and the Journal for Applied Philosophy.

Research Interests

Elizabeth’s primary research interests lie within the philosophy of biology. They include: debates about human nature within and between the social and human sciences; the relationship between developmental and evolutionary biology; and the consequences of a developmentally informed evolutionary biology for an evolutionary psychology. Her forthcoming book, co-edited with Tim Lewens, is entitled Why We Disagree about Human Nature, and will be published by OUP.
