Biography
Mujtaba Rahman is the Head of Eurasia Group's Europe practice, leading the firm’s analysis of European politics and political economy.
Prior to joining Eurasia Group, Mujtaba worked at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs, and at the UK Treasury. As well as teaching political risk to graduate students at the LSE, Mujtaba also teaches at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs and New York University's Stern Business School, where he is an adjunct professor. In addition, Mujtaba regularly provides commentary to the media on European affairs, including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times and television appearances on the BBC, Bloomberg, and CNBC.
Mujtaba holds an MA in International Affairs from Columbia University and an MA in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He speaks French and Urdu
