LEQS 2010 Doctoral Paper Competition

The LSE 'Europe in Question' Series (LEQS) is pleased to announce its 2010 Doctoral Paper Competition, with a prize fund of £1000.

Papers are invited on all topics to do with Europe. We encourage submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including political science, political theory, public policy, international relations, economics and political economy, geography, philosophy, sociology, social policy, law, and history. Papers should be 7000-10,000 words in length. The Competition aims to bring together LSE research on Europe, and authors must be enrolled on a PhD programme at the LSE.

The deadline for submissions is 30th September 2010. Winners will be announced at a public event scheduled for November 2010.  Prizes will be awarded as follows: first prize, £600; second prize, £300; third prize, £100. The winning papers, and others judged of special merit by a jury of LSE scholars, will be published as LEQS working papers in early 2011.

Submissions should be emailed as a Word document to euroinst.LEQS@lse.ac.uk|. Please refer to the submission guidelines| for detailed information on the format. Further enquiries should be directed to Katjana Gattermann at the same address.
