LEQS 2014-15 Doctoral Paper Competition

LSE ‘Europe in Question’ Discussion Paper Series is pleased to announce its 2014-15 Doctoral Paper Competition, with a prize fund of £1000.

Single-author papers are invited on all topics to do with Europe. We encourage submissions from a wide range of disciplines, including political science, political theory, public policy, international relations, economics and political economy, geography, philosophy, sociology, social policy, law, and history. Papers should be 7000-10,000 words in length. The Competition aims to bring together LSE research on Europe, and authors must be enrolled on a PhD programme at the LSE.

The deadline for submissions is 15th December 2014. Winners will be announced at a public event scheduled for Spring 2015. Prizes will be awarded as follows: first prize, £600; second prize, £300; third prize, £100. The winning papers, and others judged of special merit by a jury of LSE scholars, will be published as LEQS working papers in early 2015.

Submissions should be emailed as a Word document to euroinst.LEQS@lse.ac.uk. Please refer to the submission guidelines for detailed information on the format. Further enquiries should be directed to Sonja Avlijas at the same address.

Papers will be judged by a committee comprising the editors of LEQS. The committee reserves the right not to make an award or to award joint prizes. Decisions made by the committee are final.
