Toon Van Overbeke is a PhD candidate at the European Institute, working on the comparative political economy of automation and future of work. His project aims to understand how European economies have dealt with labour-replacing technological change over the last thirty years in different ways.
His research interests include comparative political economy, economic history, industrial relations, future of work and innovation.
Prior to joining the European Institute as a research student, Toon completed a MSc in Political Economy of Europe at the same department. He also holds a MA in History from the KU Leuven.
