Welcome Week - 19-23 September 2016
This is a very busy week for new students, so please make a note of the compulsory Welcome Week events and meetings for undergraduates so you don't miss out. The full schedule is listed at the end of this page:
Departmental Welcome Meeting and Study Skills Induction

Monday 19 September, 3pm,

Room CLM 4.02 Clement House, Aldwych
3-4.15 pm: Welcome Meeting: In this first session you will meet Dr Gerben Bakker and Dr Peter Cirenza, who are responsible for undergraduate related matters within the department. You will also meet Helena Ivins, the Undergraduate Administrator. They will take you through key aspects of your first year at LSE and address your questions you have about study and related matters. This meeting is compulsory so please ensure you attend.
4-.15-4.45: Tea break
4.45-6pm: Study Skills Induction Course – Session 1
This part of the meeting will introduce you to the reading, writing and critical skills necessary for undergraduate study. There will be two further one hour sessions in Week 0, and one in Week 1. Expect to do some homework and groupwork for each session.
The Study Skills course is compulsory so please make sure to attend each session.
Meeting with your academic adviserIn Week 0 or Week 1 you will be invited to a meeting with your academic adviser. Please ensure you attend.

Please sign up as soon as you can to get your LSE login and password and set up your LSE email account. Here’s how:

Log into selfreg.lse.ac.uk

Use your LSE student number to create logins and passwords for your email and other LSE information systems.
Please note that after the first few weeks of term we will use only your LSE email address so please make sure your LSE email account is up and running as soon as you can. Check your email regularly – at least once a day, and learn to manage your spam folder to ensure vital messages don’t get lost.
LSE for You
This is LSE’s student information management system. You will use it to see your timetable, register for your courses, communicate with teachers and other tasks. You can log in here: lfy.lse.ac.uk
Moodle
Moodle is the LSE’s virtual learning environment. Every course will have a moodle page with study materials and information about the course. You can log in here and search for you r courses:moodle.lse.ac.uk
Lent Term Exams, Week 0 January 2017
Every student on our programmes will do at least one Lent Term mid-term exam, depending on their programme. Exams are expected to start in the week of Tuesday 3rd January. If you need to book tickets for travel back to London before the exam timetable is confirmed in November please make sure you will be in London in good time for exams.
Departmental Guide
You will receive a copy of the department’s guide for new students, which contains key information you will need as an Economic History undergraduate at LSE.
